Paint Curing Booth Intrinsically-Safe Infrared Temperature Measurement

Paint curing processes in spray booths require accurate and consistent temperature control to ensure optimal coating adhesion, finish quality, and durability. Temperature detection across vehicle surfaces is critical to achieving uniform curing, particularly on complex geometries and large panels.

The presence of hazardous solvents and gases make this environment require an intrisically-safe sensor such as the ExTemp.

Common Challenges in Paint Curing Booths

Challenge 1: Freshly painted surfaces can be easily disturbed by contact probes, leading to scratches, marks or an uneven finish.

Solution: Mount an ExTemp infrared temperature sensing aiming at the target area to monitor the paint surface temperature as it cures, without the need to make contact.

Challenge 2: Inconsistent temperature readings can cause errors within the heating control loop, leading to either excessive heating, or insufficient heating.

Solution: ExTemp infrared temperature sensor continuously measures actual surface conditions and automatically adjusts heater output to maintain target setpoints.
